To teach the Legal System, I developed a three week long project that has unprecedented student buy in and engagement. Each day my students listen and read along to the podcast In the Dark by APM Reports, the story of the wrongful conviction of Curtis Flowers. To reflect and process what they hear, they complete an InterActive Notebook (IAN) that I developed with my collaborator Maddie Short. Teaching in this way has taught me the power of human connection and storytelling.
