A Firebrand’s Guide: Durham’s History of Activism

Client: Pauli Murray Center for History & Social Justice, 2023

I worked with public historian Kate Borchard Schoen to adapt archival research on the history of activism in Durham into six thematic curriculum modules for K-12 teachers and students. Each module is accompanied by curriculum resources, including a digital interactive notebook, lesson plans, graphic organizers, and primary source extension guides.

This work combined archival research, writing, design, and curriculum skills to create a resource that can be used by teachers, for teacher training, and by the community.
